Born in Albany, Ga on August 27, 1977, I, Robert Mitchell discovered that I had the natural ablility to draw at an early age. During my childhood, however, I had a greater love of playing basketball, and drawing was something i enjoyed doing when I had free time. I attended Albany High School where I played on the varsity basketball team, and also took art classes. I received an invitation to the Kiwanis Art Exhibit to display my artwork, but due to a busy basketball schedule, I was unable to attend.
After graduating from high school in 1997, I attended Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College in Andalusia, AL where I recieved a basketball scholarship. Unfortunately, my basketball carreer didnt continue due to a knee injury.
I then returned to my hometown and began drawing more frequently. I practiced drawing daily to perfect my craft. I started out only doing portrait drawings, which I did for a numerous amount of people, but I am now focused on creating my own unique style of artwork.
Today, I still reside in Albany, Ga with my wife and two daughters. My current artwork is done in pastel painting on acid free suede and regular mat boards, which gives my artwork a unique texture and style.
